Cisco Refresh

What is Cisco Refresh?

Cisco Refresh is an official sales channel for network technology that has been refurbished by the manufacturer itself. The channel was formerly known as Cisco Certified Refurbished Equipment (or CCRE).

What products are available in Cisco Refresh?

Through the Refresh channel, you can purchase active products (orderable able as new) and end-of-sale products (which can no longer be ordered as new) from the entire Cisco product portfolio, including switching, routing, security, wireless, IP telephony and others.

Is the Refresh hardware comparable to new hardware?

All the remanufacturing is done by Cisco authorised contractors using Cisco authorised parts, processes and standards. Refresh products are in mint condition, come in Cisco original packaging including all original accessories and can be taken under the manufacturer's maintenance contract - Cisco SMARTnet.

Where do the products come from?

Cisco's refresh programme offers refurbished network technology from trade-ins, leasing returns and surplus stock.

How are the Refresh products indicated?

Products from the Refresh channel have the suffix "-RF" at the end of their manufacturer part numbers, the product description always contains the identifier "REMANUFACTURED".

An example: SFP-H10GB-CU1M-RF - 10GBASE-CU SFP+ Cable 1 meter REMANUFACTURED

When should I consider Cisco Refresh products?

In general, you should always check whether items are also available in the Refresh channel, as they have the same quality at a much more attractive price. Often a mix of Cisco Refresh, Cisco Excess and new products is a good way to get the most out of your budget.

In addition to the obvious price advantage and greater availability due to multiple distribution channels, this helps you to use valuable resources wisely and reduce your carbon footprint by extending the life cycle of this hardware. It is rarely so easy, profitable and convenient to do good for the environment!
