Step 1

You send us a Trade Up request with the serial numbers of your old devices and your end customer information.

Step 2

We ask the manufacturer if your products can be exchanged through the Trade Up Program.

Step 3

Once Fortinet confirms the TradeUp and provides special conditions, you will receive an offer from us.

Step 4

If you accept the offer, the new products will be shipped to you.

Use the Trade up Matrix to identify the best replacement. Transfer of services is allowed from old product to new product

TRADE UP a non-End of Order (EOO) Product

Chose eligible Products in your ASSETS LIST and buy the latest technology at a discounted price, choosing a replacement from the price list in the same product range.

Benefits

End users can also benefit from transferring existing support subscriptions to their upgraded device, if a recommended replacement device is listed in the Trade Up Matrix on the partner portal. The transfer of subscriptions is only possible if the new device is purchased as standard hardware, which does not include bundle support.

Fortinet Trade Up FAQ

Who is allowed to trade up products through the program?

End customers, within the territory, who are the lawful owners of the eligible product unit properly registered in its own name with Fortinet.

Which products are eligible for the Trade Up program in 2023?

Two categories of products are eligible:

  • EOO products with valid support subscriptions or expired within 12 months
  • Non-EOO products from Fortinet price list with valid support subscriptions or expired within 12 months, not on the Exclusion List*

What information is required to receive a Trade Up offer?

The end customer information (company, contact person, address, contact information) and the serial numbers of the devices that are to be replaced.

What rules apply?

Replacements for non-EOO products should be chosen from the same model range. Replacements for EOO products can be obtained from the Trade Up Matrix* or via our Trade Up Tool. Transfer of support and protection services are only allowed for EOO products with valid services. The Trade Up Matrix* or our Trade Up Tool shows a list of technically compatible replacements.

What are End of Order (EOO) products?

End of Order products have reached the End of Order date, that is the last date on which a product may be ordered. After that date the product is no longer available for sale.

How to transfer service support subscriptions from an EOO product to a recommended replacement product?

You can transfer your services in the “Asset/ Manage Products” area on FortiCloud. Select the serial number of the product to be replaced, click on the “Registration/RMA Transfer” option and insert the serial number of the new product. Click on “Save” and ensure that the transfer of services has been confirmed. Once existing services have been transferred to the replacement product, additional standalone services subscriptions can be registered.

What happens to traded-up products?

You cannot reuse, resell, lend, rent, or lease the replaced products. Neither can they use it for any kind of commercial services to third parties. Once a product has been traded-up, it no longer qualifies for further Trade Up or renewal.
